Make up your G*T*D mind!

So I’m thinking of moving from gtdify to thinkingrock.  Ordinarily I would just gung ho it and just do it, but I’ve learned from my past mistakes. When my MacBook went bad, I sent myself a copy of the data file for thinkingrock so I could use it on my windows machine. Well, I should have tested it out first, because for whatever reason, I was unable to bring it into thinkingrock again on the other machine.

By this time, my MacBook was dead, so there was no going back.

Since I had printed everything out, I could at least re-enter everything. Not ideal but not a total loss. Lesson learned.

Another example was with my phone. I’m loving the Evo, and I was plugging along with texting, and was trying to send a mass text to a few friends. I had an extra ticket to the muay thai fights and wanted to see if anyone wanted to come. Well, adding people to a text is a bit cumbersome.  U have to type their name and it’ll smart filter. I want to just scroll through my contacts and just click a checkbox. I was thinking that an app I installed could do the trick, so I selected it to open my contacts. Next thing u know, my contacts r gone!

Boom! Another lesson learned! Should have backed up to Google. And even after I rooted it and put cyanogen on it, I still didn’t back anything up. I don’t know all that I lost but I know I lost some things. Also, it would have been good to document the process in case anyone else needed any help.

Well I’m going to do it this time!  Stay tuned!
